I Acknowledge The Bloomingdale's People....

DR ANITA HEISS, one of the plaintiffs in the Bolt gagging, tells Crikey! readers:

"I am continuing to focus on what I love doing most, working with young Aboriginal people around the country and teaching them how to write their own stories, in the hope they too will one day have the position of privilege to publish their own words."

Well, for six months of the year, anyway (see the 2:00 mark).
(Thanks to Bob On The Murray for sending the Crikey excerpt.)

UPDATE: "Anita’s $90,000 grant over two years will help her research and produce two works, including a memoir, Am I Black Enough For You? ‘The work will include my insights on contemporary Australia and views on Aboriginal people today — like the need for greater selfrepresentation in literature and the classroom,’ said Anita.

UPDATE II: Meet Anita's mob -- the publicist, the stylists, the photographer, the life coach, the Melbourne and Sydney makeup artists and, of course, her personal stylist.

  1. The things that struck me from all that is: she's a woman, who loves shopping (in New York), just loves Paris (it's so romantic, even if you're alone), etc .... Made me want to puke.

  2. Nice to see our taxes at work. Glad that she is able to get in touch with her culture by visiting the Ti-Fani diaspora.

  3. Professor,
    i'll rephrase the situation thus;
when a great rainbow snake or cosmically big emu or allah's pillars are given the same moral imprimatur as the historicity of Jesus' resurrection - you are stuffed.
Law links in with lores and mores, and facts as well as they can be attested to by the best of the best.

    It's Jesus or alternatives.

The story of the West, swim or sink options.

  4. Thanks for that link to Home Page, Prof. I see there's an endless world of possibilities with further sequels to her writing: 'Berlin Dreaming', 'Buenos Aires Dreaming', 'Riyadh Dreaming', 'Pyongyang Dreaming' . . . .actually, probably not the last one. I don't think there's a Tiffany's there yet.

At leats I know where to turn if ever I finish reading my daughter's Tashi books and endless Diaries of Whimpy Kids. (There's a possibility: what about 'Diary of a Wimpiri Kid'? That ought to snare an Oz Council grant!)

  5. Including welfare we are now paying 5 Bill in taxpayers money per year to the Aboriginal industry which supposedly represents 500,000 people, most of whom live in the State capitals or regional centres.

Anyone thought about cutting off all the welfare, defunding the departments and NGOs and simply buying every Aboriginal a house if they agree to never ask for more taxpayer funds?

Would solve the aboriginal issue in one stroke and leave countless screaming lefties out of a job.

  6. I need a "life coach". Being 1/16th Aboriginal I should see if the gummint will get me one of those for free.

  8. She is nauseating...I wonder what the TRUE aborginals on whose back she is profiteering think...

I feel sick on their behalf,
I feel sick for Andrew Bolt,
I feel sick for the hapless Australian Tax payer
I feel sick on behalf of REAL justice
and I feel sick sick sick even looking at that murderess of free speech and her accomplices in the that disgusting spectacle of that kangaroo court.
    Pass me the vomit bucket!

And meanwhile the NBN will service 97% of Australians. I wonder who the missing-out 3% will be, once you factor in geographical remoteness and general below-the-radarness.

  11. So what you're suggesting is if we 'choose' our Aboriginal heritage all these doors, scholarships, career etc will open for us....well then it should be no problem then....Australian Aboriginals having worst health and life indicators of any other nationality must be a nonsense...they just have to 'choose' their Aboriginality and problem solved....
Your view reflects an appalling ignorance. Culture is not defined by skin colour alone and being Aboriginal is not a cruisey as you make-out. You are doing a huge diservice to your country spreading this garbage.
