The ABC gets back to basics

Beneath this picture of a flint-eyed Julie Bishop at the ABC website....

..... there is this headline.....

followed by this story, which is reproduced in its entirety....
"Ms Bishop says she will leave for meetings at the UN in New York on Saturday and will talk to Dr Natalegawa while she is there."
Mark Scott must be coming to appreciate that his bloated empire does indeed need to trim the waste Joe Hockey said several weeks he would be looking to find. Thus do we now see the ABC approach to reporting the news reduced to its bare essentials: a partisan headline, an unflattering picture of a class enemy and a few entirely irrelevant words to justify the lot.

As a further economy measure, a photoshopped Ms Bishop has not been shown enjoying conjugal relations with a dog, despite such imagery being entirely "in line" with the broadcaster's "target audience".

  1. I'm quite sure Benny Hill's fare was in line with his target audience, didn't save him from the PC lynchers though.

They are running scared too, Prof. Julie Bishop's mere existence, let alone her very clear competence, is obviously to be read by lefties as a constant attack on Julia Gillard's handling of the Prime Ministership and a taunt that another female is up there in a top job.

  4. Re the ABC farce: They are following the leftist progressive rules for political and social engagement:
Whatever they do against their opponents is comedy, funny and at worse sarcasm, however when their opponents do far milder things against them or that they disapporve of, it is a "Hate crime" or the expression of some sort of intolerance and "---- phobia". Remember that for them everything is "fair" in a "good" cause: including intolerance for the purposes of advancing tolerance and diversity. Very similar to the Islamic Taqqiya : the "a legal dispensation whereby a believing individual can deny his faith or commit otherwise illegal or blasphemous acts while they are at risk of significant persecution." Of course for both Islamist and Leftist the definition of "significant persecution" is up to them. Shades of Balir's Law.
