    Bolta won't allow the question but it has to be asked:
    Is Julia menopausal?
    It would explain much.

    This lashing out at non compliant males whom she believes are responsible for the unhappiness in her life is a concept familiar to me.

    the same thought crossed my mind too this morning 1st Anonymous she is the right age for it and those hormones can reek havoc on those emotions.

      Possibly, but she could be on HRT. The more likely explanation is that she's a shrew and has always been one. Too much for even the most determined Petruchio.

    We now all know what our Dear Leader thinks is acceptable.
    The next clown who raises a "but Tony Abbott ....." in my presence is going to get a reply sweetly laced with some of Slippery's finest.
    When challenged, I will merely plead that such language has been sanctioned by the Crayfish ( no sexual reference intended)

    Last response probably true....She is full of envy; for the "establishment" Daddy taught her to despise, but for which she secretly yearns: envy that the Hon. A Abbott has a nice wife, three lovely daughters, and a happy home life.
    As to Slipper, how about "Pete's Pickled Pussy"?

      Excellent point. I wonder if any of her handbag brigade are similarly disappointed: divorced, man-haters.

      I think we're seeing the inevitable result of the ALP's gender-based, cab-rank promotion system. Join Emily's List and sooner or later you'll percolate to the top and can claim your rightful sinecure. Competence not required, merely the effluxion of time.

      Leaving aside any disappointment re affaires de coeur (although Roxoff was disappointed by Short Willy, I believe), I think your latter point holds water, Walter. Here is a cohort who have risen on affirmative action, promoted faster than their ability might merit, and who then cry 'Sexism!' when their competence is found wanting. The Peter Principle is that everyone is promoted to to their own level of incompetence. What is this? The Petra Principle?

    I'd say she takes advice on her appearance and her health (thus a 'cosmetically-enhanced' face and probably HRT), so we may conclude that her current behaviour is actually due all her own good self, and not excusable in any other way.
