BELATED congratulations to Victoria's new Chief Magistrate Peter Lauritsen, whose appointment exemplifies Premier Ted Baillieu's approach to power.
Lauritsen, a good Labor man, is the former law partner of John Cain.
Soon-to-be Premier Daniel Andrews -- two years to go and he is counting the days -- is thought to be delighted at the announcement.

Why does Father Ted always act more like his dumb sidekick Dougal ?
ReplyDeleteI think he is actually a labour moll - or is that mole? The lost opportunities are enough to make you weep. Unless Ted grows a backbone or there is a change to someone who will implement all the promises to return Victoria to a state of opportunity and enterprise then we will see another period of labour lies and ineptitude that will finally stuff this State for all time.
DeleteWho is this Ted Baillieu of whom you speak?
ReplyDeleteXeric
(A puzzled Victorian resident)
Well may you ask. There are many who believe him to be a figment of our imagination conjured in the false hope of relief from our socialist subjugation. Plainly we were bloody mistaken.
DeleteThere are police on the roads now. I see them and I am cheered. I feel a little bit safer. There were none visible for many years under the labour government.
DeleteFrom my far-away vantage point, I get the impression that this Ted fellow was not only surprised that he won the last election, but he is also embarrassed by his win.
ReplyDeleteTherefore he governs as a Labor leader to keep the Treasury benches warm till the rightful government is restored.
How's things over there in Vic? still jailing Christian Pastors for quoting from the Qur'an?
Well may you ask if we are still jailing Pastors. That's another piece of legislation that Timid Ted has done sweet "what he said" about.
DeleteAndrews will never be Premier.
ReplyDeleteArch nasty, Jacinta Allan will replace him before the next election. She, like Gillard, has little time for the battlers who keep her in office, it's all about her and what she sees as her right to the top job and its power.
Labor supporters in her current electorate of Bendigo East are breathing a sigh of relief at her plans to abandon the seat and move to more socialist climes in Melbourne.
Once elected she will continue her task of completely defunding TAFEs in favour of her favourite private providers and resume the previous Labor Government's pilfering from the state's treasury until Victoria staggers to a stop like Queensland under Bligh.
I say, a bit unsporting!
DeleteAs Beattie was heard to say Bligh was 'tipped into it' and as the well regarded for puff pieces on socialist zealots, 'Australian Story' explains, it was all the fault of her dead father.
If Labor continues to send these poor examples of Australian womanhood into bat, we will have the end of female emancipation voted for by women themselves!
I am becoming more and more disenchanted with Teddles. He seems to be continuing the Liberals tradition of not undoing the worse excesses of the left side of politics. That includes, it seems, doing something to lessen the left wing bias of our judiciary.
ReplyDeleteAbolish the National Green Laboral Pardee, start a real Party of The People ,call it the Peoples Control Party,Abolish political parties professional political Bludgers ,and Stupid Academics who dont know Sugar from Clay, theres a Start.
ReplyDeleteXeric his name is Trevor Beaurepaire I think.?
ReplyDeleteMy God! The man's an IDIOT!
ReplyDeleteGood Labor men. Exactly what's needed in the Judiciary right now. Onya Ted.
ReplyDeleteI'm no football fan but I believe the cognoscenti there call it an 'own goal'.
