FOR some reason the judge in this case has suppressed the names of the parents charged with the genital mutilation of their daughter.
What a silly judge!
Everyone knows the father's name will be Mohamad or some variant thereof, and the wife's does not matter. Other than holding down a young girl and forcing upon her the sentence of life in a mobile tent, she will have been raised to see herself as being of no greater use to the world than a kitchen utensil and welfare-cheque incubator.
Multiculturalism's gorgeous mosaic, those red tiles are sometimes women's blood.
UPDATE: Several commenters note that the parents' names have most likely been suppressed in order to protect the child. Bit late for that, isn't it?

Mothers and butchered daughters, roll up, roll up. An outreach evening just for you in the offing at Kirribilli House. Let's celebrate diversity and wrap up those seats in Western Sydney once and for all.
ReplyDeleteCarn' Professor these new Aussies are just embracing the traditional Balinese getaway, as Red Gum sang...
ReplyDeleteJetstar flight 20, Denpasar
Stay with cousin Abdul, He's a star
I've been to Bali
I've been to Bali too
It's a long way to come for a genital snip
But those bloody Aussie laws, they force the trip
So you can't restrain me
Cause I've been to Bali too
"...Everyone knows the father's name will be Mohamad or some variant thereof..."
ReplyDeleteIn France, where the same "discretion" in favour of the same kind of multicultithugs is imposed from a socialist government and a terminally dhimmified media, folk by now call all mohamedanian law-breakers "Vladimir". Seriously!
Awful! Awful! Awful!
ReplyDeleteThe names have most likely been suppressed to protect the identity of the child.
If you really believe that, I've got this bridge you might like to buy...
DeleteOH MY allah! You are racialist missagonaist ,and against best islamic government in the world!m
ReplyDeleteTechnically to protect the daughter I guess, Prof.
ReplyDeleteA bit late for that, though. Make an example of them in order to protect the next young prey of these cultural sort of vultures.
Your biting words reflect my own feelings for parents who can do this to their child. Shaming and jailing and no nonsense about 'cultural education', thank you. This is illegal and totally abhorrent. Treat it as such.
I'd go further than that - if convicted of this sort of assault on a child, ALL the children of these knuckle draggers (sterilize the parents too) should be removed and adopted out into families not of the same vicious misogynistic beliefs. If we are not willing to come down on this sort of sadism with all the force we can muster - we are complicit in it.
DeleteI am listening hard but I can't hear the outcry from the likes of Miz Summers and Comrade Juliar - this is real misogyny!
I'm shouting into the wind I have little doubt but: where are the defenders of downtrodden refugees, the champions of the rights of minorities, the "Think Of The Children!" brigade...?
ReplyDeleteAs usual, when there is true injustice, they are nowhere to be seen or heard 'cause it's all a bit too hard and creates an philosophical conflict for them which just cannot be resolved by an extra strong latte.
I hope this country never has to fight a war to retain its freedom because it's going to have one hell of a job to find enough people prepared to bet their life against their espoused, but never really tested, morality.
Almost certainly a story with a Mohammad coefficient of 100%.
ReplyDeleteOnly if you count the mother's patronymic.
DeleteWhat pisses me off is that the feel-good, lefty media continue to describe it as "female circumcision", trying to equate it with (male) circumcision, and continue to make excuses for the barbaric practices of primitive and ignorant people. It is a monstrous assault on the girl's body - genital mutilation - somewhat equivalent to cutting off a boy's penis with a knife. But we are supposed to be sensitive to the "cultural practice" because the people who do it live in Labor electorates?
ReplyDeleteJust a further example of the moral and ethical decline of this nation. having said that love meeting Islamic ladies they just cannot believe the respect and freedom ordinary Aussies enjoy and offer. We need to survive one or two generations till the extremists die out. Thats the issue.
DeleteRussR
I suppose the judge thought he had to suppress the names of the parents to protect the child.
ReplyDeleteCrazy world, isn't it, Prof, when that's how we have come to protect children in this brave new world.
That is probably the reason for the prohibition. Indeed, in some states legislation prevents the publication of the name of a child victim (or evidence that would tend to identify the victim, such as the name of an offending parent) even without a specific order from the judge. I note the good Professor's Update comment. It has some merit but, at the risk of stating the obvious, the intended protection is from the ridicule, prying and humiliation that could only add to the already considerable suffering of the poor innocent victim.
DeleteThe legislation is obviously well-meant. But is has curious results. If it had been in force at the relevant time we would never have learned the names Lindy and Azaria Chamberlain. Is that a good thing or a bad thing? I'm not sure.
Cue the sisterhood led by Gillard giving misogyny speech mark two, in support of their mutilated sister.
ReplyDeleteAny. Minute. Now...
the Green/Labor/ABC/Union sisterhood members would be the females holding the little one down while she is being mutilated, "for her own good you know".
DeleteObstetric practices in places like Afghanistan are fascinating to acquaint yourself with.
ReplyDeleteOne of my patients, a nurse working in Kandhaha ( is that how you spell it? Maybe not but the haha is good and works) told me the story of a 15 year old girl who was dragged by her family from the backblocks in obstructed labour with the dead fetal arm hanging out after a several day labour...well known recipe for complete disaster since medieval times in the West...and the "cultural" "folk remedy" solution applied prior to the arrival of said in extremis wannabe parturient..why of course, the thing likely to logically solve this problem..a dead chicken where underpants usually are.
Advanced thinking. Things did not end happily, needless to say. And the local surgeon applying the one and only modern remedy of caesarean section was not very happy about all the feathers.
Never mind, we can have this good old Oz too, it's just one of the logical natural endpoints of cultural relativism.
So, where can we get these dead chickens? I have a headache and I need to get to work tomorrow. Chicken is good for you isn't it?
DeleteNow, that's misogyny.
ReplyDeleteWhere's Emily and her List of fighting fembots when we really need them?
You've got to admit, derFred, at least the logic is consistent.
DeleteThe "Emily's Listers" in the A.L.P. are utterly opposed to capital punishment of terrorists, murderers, drug peddlers, rapists and child molesters, but wholeheartedly support and encourage it, if it is carried out on unborn babies - for 'convenience' and for the private profit of the abortion abattoir proprietor.
They call themselves "pro-choice". That is a bit like Dr Josef Mengele and the Nazi's calling themselves the same thing.
I suppose that if you do not regard your victim as a human being, then it makes a warped kind of sense.
Don't worry about it. Once the Catallaxy Libertarians you worship have their way and completely bend over our nation to service their Fountainhead laws, none of this will matter.
ReplyDeleteFree-trade = clitoridectomy (for the economy, pbuh)
To my knowledge, no-one on Catallaxy supports female genital mutilation. Anything else you refer to here is irrelevant.
DeleteRubbish, Professor - what a complete load of throbbing knob!
ReplyDeleteEveryone knows the couple is Patrick Aloysius and Bernadette Therese O'Hanrahan.
Because the Catholic Church is singularly and undoubtedly guilty of EVERY offence known to mankind! Just ask Gillard, the rest of the ALP, the ABC and pretty well every other lefty reporter under the sun.
Flipping left-footer cattle-ticks!

As I commented in the thread below about the Red Barren's little Soirée le Sheilas, Plibersek was on 730 the other night on this very subject of female genital mutilation in the Muslim community.
ReplyDeleteIt is obvious that the lemon-sucking dumbo has been dragged kicking and screaming into this one because the NSW Minister and NSW Plod have exposed it.
Tanya was heavy on "education" and "community groups" and "cultural change" but very light on "law enforcement" or even perhaps "let's add this to the Terms of Reference for the Royal Commission".
And, aided and abetted by Uhlmann, she manages to weave in a swipe at Abbott on RU486.
Yep .... you read it right ..... a story on Muslim female genital mutilation can be contorted into a cheap shot at Abbott.
Incidentally, given the ALP's sell-out of Israel to appease the bomb-throwers and drive-by shooters in Western Sydney, what odds they take any real action over a little DIY nip-and-tuck work after mosque on Fridays.
The Irish Lion
Actually I think that can work.
DeleteJust put Muhammad to the microscope!
Comparative religion with surgical scalpel driven precision and certainty.
eg. Is there sufficient evidence Muhammad was a schizophrenic wife beating homicidal pedophile? [rhetorical question]
The devil is in the detail. So teach it. Sun scorchingly accurate.
Tanya's sympathies would probably lean towards a sensitive approach to law enforcement given that she's married to a gent who was awarded nine years in the slam on a charge of conspiracy to import narcotics.
DeleteCrikey old roarer you are stirred up,
DeleteLet us all remember the great old saying "Your Father should have left you on the s-e-t-". I''ll be interested to see if this one gets through.
Irish,
DeleteYou said it better than I could.
Cheers

Who told the police in the first place?
ReplyDeleteSomeone's just asking for an acid spritzer in the face to save the family's honour.
Well, you know the old saying:
ReplyDelete"If the clitoris won't come to Mohammed..."
Hmm...that sounds a bit different from the one my grandma used to say...
DeleteFor me the parents should be shamed. It is a barbaric practice foisted on girls bfore they are old enough to know what it is all about. Take Australian citizenship then obey Australian laws and that means not forcing your daughters to be mutiliated.
ReplyDeleteThe parents should be not only shamed, but legally responsible should a young girl be found to have been mutilated within Australia or anywhere else since coming to Australia. Doing it overseas would then be no excuse. The parents could still be jailed for the result. Checks by school health nurses and other could identify the victims, with notification being mandatory, as in other forms of serious child abuse. Like Suttee in India (widow burning) this practice needs a strongly applied legal sanction, not just waffle about education.
DeleteThis is not parallel to male circumcision (which I also personlly disagree with as a practice on young children). It is much, much worse, because it destroys sexual functioning, is constantly painful, psychologically damaging, and can interfere with normal childbearing.
Do not come to Australia if you want to engage in this practice on your children or the children of others. Tell these would be "Australians" prior to arrival about our firm laws on this, and imprison them if they ignore you.
Australians do not do this sort of thing to their children. People who do are not welcome here.
No, no Mother G - it should be he other way around: agree to obey Australian laws THEN take Australian citizenship.
DeleteNo agreement?
No citizenship!

If this were a cow in Indonesia we would never hear the end of it.
ReplyDeleteCome on, Bidda Jones, Lyn White, etc, where is your opposition to Female Genital Mutilation?
#WarOnWomen... so where's Gal-Qaeda?
ReplyDelete"Several commenters note that the parents' names have most likely been suppressed in order to protect the child. Bit late for that, isn't it?"
ReplyDeleteQuite so.
"Everyone knows the father's name will be Mohamad or some variant thereof, and the wife's does not matter."
ReplyDelete"and the wife's does not matter" - this sums it up perfectly...
TonyO.
Where's the Prime Minister calling this out for the misogyny it is!!!! Wonder if the Royal Commission into child sexual abuse will look at this issue - probably not given that it would examine only one kind of perpetrator-the kind that votes almost exclusively for Labor.
ReplyDeleteRe Update; to protect the identity of the child....identity...
ReplyDeleteLentil eating basket weavers from Balmain call it 'female circumcision' to hide the fact that it is really 'female genital mutilation'!
ReplyDeleteAt last a Court case for FGM. It will be interesting to hear how it is defended in Court and how the media and the chattering classes cover it. Hopefully this is the start of many cases and in the long run there will no more of this barbaric practice in Australia. It poses the question, can the mutilatee sue the mutilator?
ReplyDeleteBut according to the Progressive Laws of relativism, who is anyone to tell anyone else that this practice, be it cultural or otherwise that it is wrong? After all western women are into vaginal reconstruction too?.

Where are DOCS? This child should be removed from parental "care".
ReplyDelete"Australian"children have been taken into care because their parents have been brutal enough to have simply slapped them.
Mother G,
ReplyDeleteThey won't be 'shamed' as they care not for the views of infidels like you. You are just a whore to them.

ReplyDeleteDear Professor, I've enjoyed and been enlightened by your column through the year. You contribute enormously to the community. Thank you. Enjoy Christmas as best you can.
ReplyDeleteI know it's all a bit patriachal and heteronormative, but to you and yours Prof, a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
ReplyDeleteknock knock...anybody there?
ReplyDeleteShall I join the long line of people waiting to welcome you back, Sir Bunyip?
ReplyDeleteWe miss you. I miss you. Hope your Christmas was peaceful and hopeful, although much tempered by your family's sadness in 2012.
Let the New Year bring a basket of political goodies that we can all welcome. But first, gird up Prof for the electoral battle to come.
