Speech Permitted

THE ABC has now published some comments on Big Ideas' webpage. Many are critical. How long will the thread last? Sportingbet should open a book.

ADVISORY: A beautiful day in Melbourne and the first tee beckons. Back tonight.

I'm headed out now too but I daresay that after the Random House "great disappearing" there'll be plenty of people keeping an eye on this one.

http://www.uploadscreenshot.com/ lets you capture the entire page, not just the bit visible on your screen, if anyone's looking for a tool.

Raining here in Sydney and the ironing still only half done. Only do mine three times yearly; I'm a wash-and-wear, or a dry-clean only type of dresser. The Ape irons his own stuff, very neatly, every morning. We are incompatible with regard to my dashing away with a smoothing iron. I would be a bad candidate for that old ballad about the chap who beheld his darling ironing and had his heart stolen away. Still, it happens even yet, in this day and age. We have friends who were brought romantically together through their common love of laundry. Beheld each other first on the internet.

Good luck with those other sorts of irons, Prof. I will keep watch on those ABC comments about a fair lady.

  3. My post hasn't been published.

    It was a simple "No"

Reading between the lines, I sense quite a lot of racism in your comment. It's all about the words you decided to leave out, as opposed to the one word you condensed your obviously racist sentiments down into. No wonder it wasn't published. Someone has to think of the children, after all.

I can't imagine why this Professor Bunyip character thinks he's going to get away with being such a harbor for haters. I hope you understand why I'm going to have to report this.

    1. Here's an idea!

If race is the determinant for receiving grants, surely an Aurakun Aborigine would be 16 x more entitled to a grant than a Sydney sophisticate..

How about we set up a Race Monitoring Department - a nice post-parliamentary 'consultancy' post for Thompson perhaps, on $300 k - to check fingernails and hair texture.

Oh! It's been done before! Who'd a thunk it?

  5. I won't add a comment, I'm all "commented-out" after posting previously on "OUR" ABC and Ratbag House.

The answer still remains a resounding NO.

The weather in Perth is fine with a pleasant breeze, some clouds around so I expect we'll see some showers today.

Joanne Nova said the James Delingpole talk at the Royal Perth Yacht Club last night was fully booked out. What a wonderful woman she is, she deserves a medal for her fight to inject some sanity into the public discourse.

Why don't we run an ongoing "Hero of the Resistance" awards program to honour those who are fighting to restore some sanity to this fair land, Jo gets my vote for the top position.

At last something we can agree on Lizzie. It's appalling that in this day and age some men still expect their partners to do their domestics for them.

  7. Speech not permitted any more. Last of 112 comments posted 18 Apr 2012 3:55:50pm, and not many of them were supportive of Anita Heiss.
Especially on an ABC website you might have expected the luvvies to weigh in and crush the critics.

  8. I pointed out, politely, that Larissa Behrendt's tweet about Bess Price was undoubtedly a breach of part IIA of the Racial Discrimination Act in that it was offensive, race was a factor in the making of the comment, and the comment was not reasonable or in good faith, in the sense in which those requirements have been interpreted by the courts.

Did the ABC publish it? Don't make me laugh.
