Boy crazy at Arts Victoria

The things those artists get up to! Remember Paul Yore, the artist whose works saw the Linden Centre shut down for a number of days following a police raid back in June? Yore is edgy and hip, as they say, as is the Linden for showcasing his work, like the two examples (below) removed by those philistine wallopers.

The Linden has just been gifted with $50,000 to keep pushing the boundaries of art (and Squaresville's sensitivities)

Linden Board of Management Inc, ST KILDA $50,000
Linden Centre for Contemporary Arts is a contemporary art gallery dedicated to exhibiting new work by contemporary artists and supporting artistic development.

There has been a lot of chatter lately about a re-ignited "culture war", but that is just silly talk.

How can you have a culture war when one side's elected champions refuse to take the field?

Bunyip, I feel so sorry for that poor young boy.

It's art of course. So I am wrong to feel sorry?

In that sort of art, I know what I like. And I don't like this.

It's lame Prof. Edgy would have been getting Luka
Magnotta, that Canadian artist to provide an actual penis.

Therein; progressives are always coy about what or where they are progressing towards.

Shy people - to be sure - to be sure. Or just fatherless delinquents saying "look at me, look at me". Either way, as you confess, police and conservatives are AWOL.

And that used to be grounds for a Court Marshal. A Jury Prof, entrust it to a Jury decision.

court martial - the marshals are all busy back slapping and polishing their badges.

  3. Oh, now I understand. When you or I produce pictures of sexual acts with faces of little boys ... that's pornography. When artists produce pictures of sexual acts with faces of little boys ...that's "a non-binary view of sexuality". Difficult to understand art, eh? I guess that means the little boys must be really, really pretty. Worthy of a great artist.

    1. Pedro, it's gross, ugly and revolting but from my limited and fading memory it's not a sexual act, though perhaps I haven't looked closely enough.

  4. There is Art and there is crap.
Then there is crap pretending to be art. This artist is neither edgy or clever. Just pathetic.
He and the gallery have again failed to understand that shock for shocks sake has about as much edge or relevance as a fart in a lift.

Actually Prof, I didn't deconstruct this with the two cents worth of attention it does actually deserve. It doesn't matter what the artist's motives are the iconography is accurate.

A quintessential all-that-glitters-pop-idol with a The Beetles affection for Indo Chinese hip pluralism is continually pissing in public and on himself.

But altogether like Luka Magnotta's insane self loathing public protestations over liberality the tragedy lies in the deafening silence. The artist could indeed have cut off his own penis and stuffed it in the idol's image; the line in the sand separating him from such realism may have well been a subliminal appreciation that such a commitment to form would have been just as silently received with golf claps from the gallery giving way to the awkwardest ever apathy.

The West is indeed pissing on itself. And Allah hu akbar will indeed do what it has done every other place it has taken hold. Leave a ground zero scorched earth habitation for a generation or more.

That the British Commonwealth was built on the Protestant Reformed religion remains the most underrated facts of history. Australia can only self destruct as the consequence of near universal ignorance.

and yes, audio visual artists are now competing with Luka Magnotta for the stage where an audience cannot conceive of a difference between fame and infamy.

  6. If I was in Melbourne right now I would grab a can of spraypaint & perform live & intercative Daubism over these exhibits. If arrested for vandalism I would scream "artistic freedom", & then all the progressives would rush to my defence (ha ha).

  7. More art/stunt/crime here. A police fine for causing a public nuisance should be afforded to these brown-art criminals.
