Hear The One About Mohammad And A Goat....

HAVE you caught word of the hot new ABC comedy series? It’s edgy, transgressive even, and brave as can be, the most daring and provocative thing you will ever see.

Picture a kooky chick who goes to Mecca and really sticks it up those bearded old farts, gets in their faces, shows ’em what a hip broad is all about. This babe has balls. She disrupts their holiest rite, tips the sacred items all over the ground and then, just to stick it up those Prophet lovers, she gets damp in the surf with a hot and horny mullah.

Whoops! Sorry, wires slightly crossed. Muslims actually have nothing to do with Judith Lucy’s Spiritual Journey – not the ridiculing of Muslims, anyway. That might have been just a tad too daring.

So while all other religions appear to be indulged, it is stripper nuns, horny priests and a staged defilement of the Eucharist where Catholicism is concerned. Yes, you’ve seen it all before – except, maybe, the bit where consecrated altar wine is seized and guzzled by a mad woman, who slops it all over herself and everything else.

But who cares what Catholics’ think? Those rock hoppers and their stupid beliefs, they deserve a right rubbishing. Everyone at the ABC and Film Victoria, which helped fund the series, sure thinks so. Catholics are good for a side-splitter. With Muslims it's a head-lopper. Best to insult the creed that turns the other cheek.

Lucy wonders in the promo if she will find enlightenment or “disappear up my own arse.”

That would seem a physical impossibility. The space is already overstuffed with taxpayers’ money, including that of Catholics.

  1. Miss Lucy peaked when she explained the features of the lubricated 'female condom' at "Juste pour Rire".

    Cheers

  2. I would watch this show if indeed Ms. Lucy did wear a burqa or hijab and did some of her comedy routine in downtown Tehran in a mosque. Picking on Catholics as a target is cowardly and has been done already by John Safran to death. Nothing new to mine there.

  3. It doesn't take a psychologist to point out that a contented atheist would not feel the same need to ridicule the Catholic faith, particularly its sacramental foundations. It is abundently clear that Judith Lucy is very publically trying to convince herself that her atheism is rational.

It is interesting that she refuses to speak to any important theologians or even engage in genuine apologetics. She courageously wins cheap debating points against modernist priests who believe as much as she does.

Well done to the ABC for once again proving that anti-catholicism is the last acceptable prejudice. This show belongs in the same class as Jud Süß

  4. No timing, no wit, just that vast self-satisfaction which is a trademark of the ABC "personality". If she could just learn to face-pull and cackle at her own jokes (in advance), she'd be Australia's own Jon Stewart.

  5. Tony Martin directed it. Awesome. I hope he doubles the laughs with some Michael Munna guest appearances. Nothing would be funnier than a stupid redneck bogan perspective of catholicism.

They should ban hair dye. Get a bit of reality back into proceedings. Who knows, maybe it's bad for the climate.

I dunno. Her arse looks like it's got a bit of room to spare.

  8. She used to have a certain style and comic flair, Judith did, now she's just pathetic and boring.
"Best to insult the creed that turns the other cheek." - love it.

  9. Hmmmm yeah ... given that they normally show the 'cream of the gags' in the promo and that promo was extremely unfunny I think I can safely give this latest ABC "let's bash anyone but Muslems" show a wide berth.

  10. Professor please! No possessive apostrophe after the plural of "Catholic".

  11. I remember Philip Adams with his American guest on Late Night Live some years ago mocking Catholics, then breaking for an interview with the Mufti of Palestine (or similar) Well the Eriah Heap impersonation from the great atheist was so nausiating I havent been able to listen to him since. Fearless Journalism What a joke.

  12. Does anyone still watch Judith Lucy or care what she does, for that matter, watch most of what OUR ABC(Aussie Bolshevik Collective) has to offer?

I'd say though, that I could agree should someone label her somewhat cowardly in her choice of religion, it isn;t Catholicism that worries many of good folk, as they are not on any route to taking over our laws or courts.

So Lucy takes the low road to Scotland and I'm not even going there, but all's well in the cloisters.....of OUR ABC!

  14. Hmmm, a pole dancing nun in lingerie, a snogging priest. Lets see if she has the guts to say, simulate masturbation at an aboriginal sacred site or mock their spirituality.

  15. They breed like rabbits and molest kiddies those dirty Papists...luckily P. Fitzsimons will be able to cross-promote this insightful ABC production in his weekly Sun-Herald column. Perhaps he'll throw in a funny little joke about a simple irishman for good measure. Thank goodness the progressives of Australia have joined forces to protect the people of the inner-west of Sydney from bigots and racists.

You missed Professor's salient point here Anonymous. People criticise Mohammad in hushed tones.

And the crux is actually the crux [not an overworked metaphor] Did Jesus rise from the dead or not? Mel Gibson's take is but one hue in a rainbow of outcome.

Western Jurisprudence and Culture has but one answer to both post modernism and multiculturalism: Jesus' Gospel.

There was and will be no other base. It is the rift valley between every man and his brother.

The resurrection only comes with two options: True or False.

You can kiss your ass, Australia and intellectual rigor good-bye according to which side of the line you fall. This is no teary eyed sentimentalism, just a statement: mere words on the horizon - now etched with them.

Australia started its days as a satellite of Christendom; a time in which no-one could seriously enough countenance any such alternatives as to put them into words. The idea of paganism, tribalism and muhammadism advancing against hundreds of years on reformation scholarship was simply not conceived of.

  17. She said it herself. She was raised a catholic. It is far more credible for someone to ridicule the riduculous, stupid and downright wrong things theye were taught as gospel when growing up that to pick on a ridiculous belief system you are not familiar with.

Id dare her to top John Safrans show.

He at least had a crack at everyone from the KKK to the mullahs. It was funny and at least original.

    Here he is on Fatwas..

Possibly the best bit on the show, Dali Lama Vs the Pope.

  20. Anonymous July 5th, it's one thing to ridicule a belief system, though why nuns? Many are good, decent women who devote their lives to others. Why should they be mocked as lingerie wearing pole dancers?

  21. Lighten up, everyone! You all take offence far too easily. Be happy that someone is allowed to do this type of thing in this country. You don't have the right not to be offended.

it's a wee bit hard to lighten up over Theo Van Gogh. Salman Rushdie might have squeezed in the odd party while in hiding. Gert Wilder's body guards might have a few nights here and there to relax.

Point taken though. The shooting wars are confined to only a few neighbourhoods - so lets party.

  23. "It is far more credible for someone to ridicule the riduculous, stupid and downright wrong things they were taught as gospel when growing up ..." from which we get the incisive commentary on the socialistic mental midgets infesting modern society, the instructors in our inclusively Studies programs, and the Womba-wannabes infesting the misnamed 'mass media'.

    Cheers

  24. You realise that this syndicated anti-"progressive", anti-ABC bashing is just as idiotic as the presumed left-wing ABC conspiracy that you ramble about? Anyone who legitimately believes in some kind of magical, absolutist left/right designation in politics needs to take some basic political science courses. The entire concept of a left/right spectrum is utterly defunct and serves only to create the kind of imbecilic politicking we see from the likes of Gillard and Abbott. The effort you put into wailing about how the left is destroying everything ever could be put into something - anything - that actually serves a purpose rather than urinating into the ocean of over-reaction.
