  1. How does a $90k legal bill bankrupt someone on a $150k plus salary? Unpleasant no doubt, but surely within reach?

  2. I'd be thinking, ar, that it would be a little like deciding he didn't want to pay the bill. And he held someone else's feet to the fire. "This is what would happen if I was bankrupted."

  3. I remind readers that it was not so long ago, in 2009, that the well-paid Sen. Bob Brown sought and received public donations in order to pay his legal bills and, allegedly, to prevent his becoming bankrupt.
Sen. Brown claimed he had no funds. This year, however, he was able to donate a spare house, ‘Oura Oura’ (and 14ha of land) to Bush Heritage Australia.
