So Sue, Craig, Sue

HOW TO winkle Craig Thomson out of Parliament and award Dobell’s voters an opportunity to replace him with an honourable man has been quite the problem, given that shame no longer works its leverage on our elected representatives. Now, perhaps, the brothel creeper himself has provided a solution: Accuse him of engaging the services of carnal consultants and he swears he will sue for defamation.

Like most things that pass this creature’s lips, his latest threat is bluff and nonsense. He had his opportunity to put such allegations to bed after slapping Fairfax with a writ – a case he chose to drop at the court’s door. While that premature withdrawal demonstrated at least one substantial difference between the law and prostitution, its greater gift can now be recognised as a reminder that (a) civil actions can be extraordinarily expensive and  (b) bankrupts are not permitted to remain in Parliament, not even on the crossbenches with the slimy likes of Peter Slipper, who is running up his own hefty legal bills.

Thomson says he will sue anyone and everyone who asserts he is a scoundrel given to rorting and rooting on union members’ tab. Good, that makes things easy: Let all decent people proclaim that Thomson is exactly as the evidence indicates, a piece of ambulatory filth and whoremonger of the first order.

But why stop there? If Thomson is to bring suit over the simple allegation that he has hired prostitutes, then there will be no additional peril in speculating about the sort of professional women he favours and their specialties. Coprophilia, bestiality, high colonic irrigation – accuse Thompson of passions for them all. Wear the charges on lapel pins, sticker them to your car, mail warnings to random shepherds that they will need to protect their flocks when Corriedale Craig is on the prowl.

It was only the self-interested generosity of Sussex Street’s schemers that covered Thomson’s last set of ruinous legal bills and saved him from being cast out of the House, but one would guess the labour movement’s largesse must nearing its limit. A few more allegations and those promised writs will see the Knock Shop Nabob reduced to penury in no time.

Then Dobell’s voters will finally get their chance to be done with scum once and for all.

  1. Risky thread, this, Professor. He probably will sue and use legal means to discover your identity. Wow! Headlines in the blogosphere, this.

Mr Thomson's lawyers will be busy indeed. They cannot prosecute one thread without prosecuting all, including the disgruntled HSU members who have appeared in the media. If Thomson's legal team manages to track the hundreds of thousands of people who have reviled him publicly and sue them, he would have the Sultan of Brunei as his house boy.

Thomson won't sue, thus your avatar is safe, Professor. The endless speculation as to your real identity in the bardic insubstantial pageant can continue, and I hope we never reach a conclusion there. The not knowing is so endlessly delicious.

  3. Coprophilia suits labor's style. They like dead everything...

Dead stocks... dead investors... dead superannuants... dead refugees drowned at sea... dead pink batt installers... dead solor panel businesses... dead electricians... dead wind farms...etc.

I guess one could go on... how many can you name?

    1. Coprophilia is different then what I think you are alluding to. I think you are thinking of negrophilla. Labor really does like shit...

    2. Anonymous... I think you actually mean necrophilia, or was that some black humour?

  4. Anonymous' "probably will sue" seems much more in hope than in reality.

What a litte snot. Perhaps Anonymous is Shagger's little would-be apprentice frightener.

  5. err, the dead stuff is necrophilia.
Coprophilia is obsession with faeces etc.

Craig's supporters will have copros on their faces the way things are going.

    1. I read that as "copros on their faeces", but then, I have accepted as I get older that "poo jokes" can be fun.

  7. On matters legal, Andrew Bolt is expressing concern that Slippery Pete could be in financial difficulty and asks if MPs shouldn't be given some form of indemnity.
    Hell no!
If the idiots pass draconian IR laws which rebound on their own, so be it.
If the rest f he community is subject to these was and MPs are not, where is the moral hazard in them passing more and more nut-bag legislation on IR, vilification, whatever.

Bolt of all people should recognise this.

    1. Bolt's role is to be a kind of establishment conduit to the disaffected centre right. To explain their thinking and vice versa. He is to pick up the slack where the ABC cant reach. At a personal level he votes Labor.

    2. Bolt runs with the foxes and hunts with the hounds - he was an enthusiastic cheerleader for the waddler from Altona when she was preparing herself for the knifing, as loyal deputy, of Comrade Dear Leader (in exile). He considered her sincere, clever, warm and personable!!!

His pedigree is Labor and I'm betting he'll be the first to give its decayed remains air time, "in the interests of balance", after they've been run off the property.

He's got the Madges and Shirls fooled, as their knight and saviour, with his "I'm a lovely fellow with a lovely fluffy dog, isn't that lovely that I write about him?" persona.

I see his "compassionate support" for Comrade Slippery Pete as feeble for sure. Bolt brings to mind "I have a firm and unshakeable position on this issue but, if you find me unpopular, I do have another."

  8. For Craig to succeed in court, he would have to demonstrate that his reputation has been harmed.
This could prove difficult given his reputation is akin to that of a sewer rat hence difficult to damage.

  9. Corpses can excrete faeces...didn't you know that.?The two obsessions are most definitely linked. If you like the smell of poo, then a rotting body isn't that big a deal.

Bunyipitude is relevant, pithy and amusing. Quite an achievement. Well done!

  13. At Catallaxy this was discussed and it was noted his wording didn't rule out that he'd paid for prostitutes but hadn't used them himself.

This is a very real possibility given that the greasing of palms within the union world would be a common occurrence.

"Our client has never used other people’s money or his own money to pay people for sex with him. Anyone who says the opposite will be sued."

So he may have paid prostitutes to have sex with others.

Would be wise to phrase accusations accordingly i.e. "Graig Thomson paid prostitutes with union funds".

  14. Ben Forham asked McCardle who is paying him to defend Thompson. Long pause, was clearly caught out by the question, and would not answer it despite Fordham's efforts.

  15. Thomson admitted on radio to paying the bills for the whorehouses,as Sec of the HSU.(When Michael Smith still had a job at Fewfax)You do that only if you know why those accounts roll in.
Therefore I think it is strongly indicative that Thomson used the hookers or arranged them for someone else and is keeping mum on it out of ????(fill the gap).
Either way the HSU members have had their union dues seriously rorted and by the rules other trading entities and their personnel work under, Thomson is a crook of similar water to Wilson et al in the 90's...
As George Brandis says, an innocent man doesn't need to rely on a statute of limitations plea to defeat any charge, so man up, Mr innocent Craig Thomson, and give us the pleasure of following your due days in court!

  16. I intend voting for a woman in the seat of Dobell, not a man

  17. I think it still an open question whether CT used the services of hookers himself, (as discussed on Catallaxy). A material indication that he did is the use of his diver's licence at a brothel. Assuming this proves his presence there, it does not prove he used the hookers. It might be that CT used the credit card to entertain union and Labor men, and put them in his debt by laying a trial that led only to him. He may have been at the brothel, but only waited for the others to finish before moving on.

If this theory is correct, then Prof's opinion that Labor will cease to fund CT's legal bills may be wrong, for otherwise he might start to name names. This would be very amusing, but Labor will try to prevent it.
